SEA.AI, a global leader in maritime machine vision, has secured a multi-million euro European government contract to deploy its AI-powered vision systems across fleets of autonomous vessels in the commercial, defense, and security sectors. These advanced systems detect, classify, and track floating hazards—including vessels, debris, and even people—providing real-time situational awareness beyond the capabilities of conventional radar and AIS.

Equipped with high-resolution optical sensors and proprietary computer vision algorithms, SEA.AI’s lightweight systems (700 g to 4.5 kg) are already used globally across recreational, commercial, governmental, and Search & Rescue vessels. The new partnership strengthens SEA.AI’s leadership in autonomous navigation and maritime safety.

Since 2018, SEA.AI has built a unique and evolving database of millions of annotated marine images from both thermal and color cameras, continuously improving AI accuracy through real-world and customized datasets. This tailored, data-driven approach enhances performance across varied operational environments.

CEO Marcus Warrelmann highlighted the achievement as validation of AI’s growing importance in maritime security, emphasizing SEA.AI’s commitment to innovation, adaptability, and leading the shift toward safe autonomous marine operations.
