Meet the team

The driving force behind The Ocean Community Challenge is to build upon the symbiosis between the ocean and coastal communities. We want to inspire people to not only see the new opportunities that the ocean offers coastal communities but also to explore how emerging digital technologies leveraged with ocean resources could help solve the challenges of coastal communities.

We are working with a fast “design-build-test” approach encouraging participants to develop prototypes to help coastal communities reach the UN Sustainable development goals.

Sailing Captain,

Investor Relations

After having sailed to Greenland and Antarctica, Pia became the first Scandinavian to race single handed across the Atlantic in 2003. Her biggest concern was not wind or lack of sleep but to sail into ghost fishing nets in the middle of the ocean, which would require diving into the net to cut free, or to hit one of the thousands of containers lost at sea from container ships each year. Pia is a serial entrepreneur, ocean sailor and innovation coach, and she is passionate about oceans, sailing, innovation and digitalization.
